Description
The popular .300 AAC BLACKOUT, known as the 300 BLK, was approved by SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute) on January 17, 2011.
This round was developed in the US for use in the M4 carbine.
Its purpose is to achieve ballistics similar to the 7.62 x 39 (AK 47 round) while using an AR-15 platform.
The 300 BLK uses a standard AR-15 magazine and is currently one of the most popular rifle rounds in use. It is unique in that it functions the weapon with both supersonic loadsand subsonic loads (for use with a suppressor.)
